King and Lidyard triumpth at Altorreal

At Altorreal today the English pairing of Gary King and Charlie Lidyard with a superb greensome score of (6 under par) came from behind to beat the Spainish pairing of Sebastian Rodrigues Garcia and Antonio Hortal by one shot on the 18th green .
Jointly sharing third place was the Spanish pair of Antonio Rodrigues and Carlos Garcia and Jamie Abbott and Jason Barnes of England.

The Tour continues at Hacienda Del Alamo next Tuesday February 7 with limited places available due to a very full field

Spanish pair make a move with a 58

In stunning conditions today and playing under the Scramble format the Spanish duo of Sebastion Rodriguez Garcia and Antonio Hortal shot a sizzling (14 under par) to lead the tournament by 5 shots at (23 under par). sharing second place are the pairings of King/Lidyard (England) Sebastian/Garcia (Spain) and Barnes Abbott (England) all on (18 under par) the final round commences under the Greensome format at 9am tomorrow.

The Hi5 Pro Tour 2012 Murcia Swing began today with its Pairs event hosted by the Club De Golf Altorreal, clear skies and 20c temperatures greeted all competitors.
Hi5 once again recieved a warm welcome from all at the Altorreal Club and the scoring reflected excellent playing conditions, round one of the event took the form of four ball better ball and leading with an impressive (10 under par) are the British pairing of Jamie Abbott and Jason Barnes followed closely at (9 under par) by the Spanish pairing of Sebastion Garcia and Antonio Hortal.

The tour will begin on January 31st with a Pairs Challenge event followed by the ever popular “MURCIA SWING” for 3 more events, followed by 3 new events at the Lumine resort near Barcelona.The Hi5 Pro Tour bases itself in Spain during the winter months and has continued to produce many European Tour winners and professionals who have made it successfully to the main tour as well as the Challenge Tour.

Ruth Seizes Helvetia Wealth First Prize

James Ruth’s consistent play over the 2011 Hi5 Pro Tour Series events in Murcia has earned him first prize in the Helvetia Wealth Bonus Pool. Ruth’s combined total was an impressive -21 and earned him an additional 2000 Euros to go with his 5162 Euro Prize Money over the two events. In second place was one of Denmark’s new talents, Morten Madsen at -18 total earning 1500 Euro from Helvetia Wealth. Third place went to Scott Drummond and Andrew Mcarthur both respectively earning 500 Euro in the inaugural Helvetia Wealth Bonus Pool, Hi5 would like to thank Helvetia Wealth for their support of young professional golfers.

McArthur Captures Playoff @ Hacienda

Scotland’s Andrew Mcarthur finished with a closing birdie on the 18th hole today in the final round at Hacienda del Alamo to force a play off with Andy Sullivan of England. Mcarthur found himself 2 shots behind going into the final hole but Sullivan 3 putted the final hole leaving both players at -13 for the tournament after regulation play. Both players returned to the first hole. Mcarthur made a solid par while Sullivan left himself a tricky two putt for his par. His first putt ran too far by and he missed the tricky side hill putt coming back. Mcarthur captured the 5200 Euro first prize and his first win on the Hi5 Pro Tour.

The flying Dutchman

Round 2 of the 2011 Hacienda del Alamo Futures Open got off to a wet start for the international field today. The rainy conditions  however did not stop Reinier Saxton from the Netherlands as he posted the low round of the day with a superb 65. Saxton,  a former British Amateur Champion who earned himself  a start in the 2009 Masters at Augusta is currently at -11 and has a narrow  1 shot lead over first round leader  former Walker Cup star, Andy Sullivan who is at -10.

Final round commences tomorrow morning at 8:00.
