Irish eyes are smiling as Paul shoots low to close out the Hi5 Pro Tour Altorreal Winter Series Tour final.

Paul O´Hanlon representing Ireland shot a superb closing round of 65 to steam up the leader board and secure the Hi5 Protour Altorreal Winter series Tour final. The 65 consisted of an impressive 8 birdies , 1 bogey and 9 pars . Paul was so pleased to secure the win in such a manner as this was his lowest ever final 18 round score of his professional playing career to date .

Close behind just one shot adrift were Iceland’s Stefan Mar Stefansson and Spain’s Ignacio Sanchez Palencia who both fought hard to get their scores into the Clubhouse at -8 in order to force a playoff with Paul. Elliott Saltman tried his best to make it a hat trick of wins for the family Saltman with a fine 66 on the final day eventually finishing in tied 5th spot.

Low amateur this week was England’s Richard Carter and low Senior this week was once again Englands Gary Wolstenholme who also finished a creditable tied 8th against the main field.

Thanks go to all the team at Altorreal for making the tour once again so welcome and presenting its course in such fine playing conditions.

The Tour now takes a small “ time out ” but is in the process of securing venues for the coming seasons schedule which all players will be notified of shortly . The Hi5 Pro Tour wishes to extend its thanks to all venues and sponsors for their continued support over this last winter and of course the superb support we have received from our Pro Tour playing members in helping us establish one of Europe’s finest developmental tours.

All Hi5 Pro Tour staff and sponsors wish all of our players great success during the coming season on their respective tours and hope to see lots of Hi5 ´s being used whilst closing out wins all over the globe.

Lloyd Saltman from Scotland went wire to wire to capture the 2010 Polaris World Condado Open today with a 5 shot margin of victory. The middle brother of the “Saltman brothers” had tremendous composure the entire round today, reported tournament director Wayne Hachey. “You could see how cool he played his round today”, the mark of a real champion. He just got on with it and took care of business, and did not let anyone come from behind with his solid performance of 70 today and a -11 total”. European Tour player Callum Maccaulay(SCO) and Challenge Tour player Floris deVries (NED) where his nearest rivals both finished at -6. Floris deVries fired a great 65 today on the demanding Nicklaus layout. After a short frost delay, the blue skies and gentle winds provided great scoring conditions to go along with the superb putting surfaces at Condado.

The ladies section Johanna Lundberg (SWE) shot a final round 71 to win by one shot over Josefin Leijon also from Sweden.

The seniors was won by European Tour veteran Miguel Angel Martin (ESP) who displayed his usual talents and closed the event with a fine 69.

Lloyd Saltman enjoys a 4 shot lead going into the final round of the 2010 Polaris World Condado Open after he started with 2 bogey’s to start round 2. However the middle brother of 3 which are playing this week answered with 8 birdies during the remainder of his round on route to a fine 67 on the 6800 meter Nicklaus signature course. His nearest competitor are Andreas Hogeberg (SWE) and European tour player Callum Maccaulay(SCO) who are both at -5. Cool temperatures with strong breezy winds faced the players today to go along with the slick greens made scoring not very easy.

In the ladies division ladies european tour player Josefin Leijon(SWE) took over the lead after a 75 today and holds a 2 shot lead over Mari Suusalu from Estonia and yesterdays leader Johanna Lundberg (SWE) who slipped back with a 79 today.

The final round commences at 9:00 tomorrow.
