The eagle has landed! Scott Fitzgerald holed his second shot on both 9 and 18 for 2 eagles.

3 players share the lead after round one of the 2010 Polaris World Riquelme Open, Matthew Evans(ENG), Ben Jones(ENG) and Morten Hedegaard (DEN) all shot spectacular 6 under 66’s to set the pace this week at the 25,000 Euro event near Murcia,Spain. Evans is no surprise near the top of the leader board as his recent fine form continues this week after winning less than 2 weeks ago and a T4th last week.

100 players teed off today for the first round and were welcomed to slight windy but warm conditions after the early morning light showers left.

One of the highlights of the day was Scott Fitzgerald who holed his second shot on the 9th and the 18th holes for 2 eagles.

The top 40 and ties after tomorrow will head into the final round of the 54 hole event. Play commences tomorrow at 8:10.
